he Flow-Tek™ Resolute Ball™ is a remarkably unique product designed to address a variety of customer challenges related to scale accumulation on the upstream surface of the ball that is common in applications with infrequent operation. Certain medias in industries such as pulp & paper black liquor, mining slurry, Petrochemical polymer processing, and refining have a tendency to accumulate thick scale on the ball surface when left dormant over time. Scale must be scraped off of a traditional ball by the seat, dramatically increasing torque, making the valve difficult to operate, often leading to premature valve failures such as seat leakage, sheared stems, and seized operation.
